My creative research for my current body of work has explored the use of organic, abstract images that are taken from nature and recreated and repeated in two-dimensional, mixed-media work.  I view the world in terms of minutia.  I focus on small areas of nature and imagine them as their own environment.  I create my own interpretation of these environments. Seeds, tree bark, grass, roots, water, and animals all intrigue me, especially their patterns and textures.  I work with visual texture and repeated pattern in a painterly way primarily on paper and stretched canvas.
