Along with painting on canvas, I love to incorporate my altered nature images into wearables. I create hand-dyed scarves that are as fun to wear as they are to look at.
The images I use are inspired by nature. First, I will dye a scarf by dipping it into the dye bath, or dripping dye directly on it. Next, I screen print the images on each scarf by hand, using thickened dye or dye discharge. Each layer of color is applied separately to create rich visual texture. The process is very labor-intensive. I work intuitively, and like the final scarf design to have a sense of improvisation.
I am always working on new scarves.
It seems that I sell them as fast as I make them, so availability is always
changing. Since I hand print each scarf individually, each one is unique.
Please contact me if you have any questions or are interested in purchasing a scarf.
